Assessments
Exemption forms must be received in our office by March 1st in order to take effect on the next assessment roll.

New York State will now be responsible for all new Basic STAR and Enhanced STAR applications. To register, call 518.457.2036. You can also apply at www.tax.ny.gov/star. Additionally, the state will now be responsible for all renewals from the STAR program.

If a property owner has any issues or difficulty contacting the state, come to the Town Office on Monday or Thursday between the hours of 9am and 3pm to get assistance from an assessor.

The local assessor’s office will continue to process all of the following exemptions:
Senior Citizens
Veterans
Agricultural Land
Agricultural Building
Business

For those property owners who need a copy of the tax map, we will gladly print one for you. Tax maps, tax rolls and property inventory are public information. We encourage property owners to visit our office to review any property. Our goal is accuracy and fair assessments.

Star Exemption Update 

As of right now, new Star applicants have to apply with New York State Dept. of Taxation and Finance.
The Assessors continue to control those already receiving Star.
